The goal of the Naturopathic Doctor is to determine the root cause of your health concerns, not just treat symptoms. This is accomplished by taking an in-depth patient history, physical examination, and diagnostic testing. We then devise a uniquely individualized treatment using natural therapeutics to support the body to heal itself.

Thousands of modern clinical studies have validated a variety of natural medicines used by ND's. Natural source medicines are non-toxic, gentle and non-invasive. Furthermore, side effects are rare and ND's are trained to watch for contraindications that may occur between natural remedies and conventional medicines.

ND's take a minimum of three years premedical studies at university, followed by four years at an accredited recognized College of Naturopathic Medicine. Subjects covered include basic medical sciences, naturopathic principles, and therapeutics. 1500 hours of supervised clinical experience is mandatory. Graduates receive a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) Degree after passing rigorous standardized exams to qualify.

ND's are trained to recognize health conditions which are beyond their scope of practice, and to appropriately refer individuals to other health practitioners where necessary.
